Construction management student Dominick Geloso presented two research papers at the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Conference, held at Cal Poly on April 15–17.
Geloso was one of the couple of undergraduate students presenting at the conference, where most participants were graduate students or faculty, marking a notable achievement at the national level.
The first paper examined the accuracy of AI-assisted quantity takeoff in construction, evaluating its reliability compared to traditional methods. The second paper explored strategies to mitigate material cost escalation and volatility under the 2025 U.S. tariffs, focusing on practical approaches used by construction professionals.
The papers were co-authored by Dominick Geloso, Dr. Hooman Sadeh, and Dr. Dimitar Todorov, with the work conducted under Sadeh, all from the Construction Management program.
