The Utica University Theatre Department is set to present Green Day’s “American Idiot” this weekend, with performances from Dec.  4 – 6  at 7:30 p.m., and a matinee on Sunday, December 7 at 2 p.m. in Strebel Auditorium. 

Inspired by Green Day’s Grammy-winning album and Tony-winning show, “American Idiot” is a dynamic rock musical that follows the journey of a group of young adults as they grapple with identity, relationships and the frustrations of contemporary life. The production blends the raw energy of punk-rock music with a narrative that explores themes of progress, personal growth, and the loss of innocence. 

The Utica University production showcases a cast of students, backed by weeks of dedicated rehearsals. 

Tickets bought at the door are cash only. They can also be bought online through Eventbrite. General admission is $20 and Utica University students who present their student ID receive a discounted rate of $5.
