So you made it onto the Dean’s List…

Utica College honors students who worked hard all semester to achieve a GPA of 3.4 or greater.

Such students are named to the Dean’s List. Those students who were able to attain a perfect 4.0 were named to the High Honors List.

Senior Kyle Swiecki said that obtaining a high GPA is not an easy accomplishment.

“It took a lot of time and effort for me to get the grades that I have always wanted,” Swiecki said. “This is very refreshing to have all the hard work and time pay off.”

Senior Natalie Capriglione was proud of herself for making the list, as was her family. She credits her time management skills and hard work for reaching her goal.

“All I think about is performing my best for Jesus,” Capriglione said. “I did believe I had a chance to make it. Even if I did not make it, then I would still know I gave everything I had. While I was playing a fall sport during the semester, I was able to handle time management.”

Sophomore Georgiannah Landers’ goal was to make the Dean’s List, and she was thrilled that she made the cut when the list of names were released.

“I knew toward the end of the semester that I was going to make it, but then I was not sure because one of my classes was not on Engage,” Landers said. “All I did was stay on top of my work and prioritized everything.”

It was not only Landers herself who was proud of the accomplishment.

“My family even framed my certificate the college gave me,” she said.

Junior Chelsea Bennett was also recognized on the Dean’s List.

“My family and I were excited when I made the Dean’s List,” Bennett said. “My mom shared my certificate on Facebook. It is nice to be reminded of my accomplishments.”

Senior Clayton Coonrod attributes his name on the Dean’s List to hard work.

“It is a privilege to be recognized for the hard work that goes into each semester,” Coonrod said. “It also shows that taking the time to learn the course material really pays off.”
