The Tangerine’s “Behind U” staff spotlight highlights the people who support and serve the Utica University community every day. This week’s spotlight profile is Marissa Hall, director of Student Living in the Office of Student Living and Campus Engagement.
Q: How long have you been working for Student Living and Campus Engagement?
A: I started working at Utica University in January 2014 as an area coordinator. This past January I just celebrated my 10 year anniversary of working here!
Q: What is your favorite part of this job?
A: I love working with the students. I enjoy making connections with students, helping them navigate their college experience, and watching them develop here at Utica University.
Q: What made you want to be a director for Student Living and Campus Engagement?
A: Every step in my journey has been about bettering myself and being able to do more for the students that I work with. I have found that as I stepped into the director role I have been able to continue to help my department make strides forward to better the student experience in our residence halls and I have been able to continue to develop myself as a professional.
Q: When you’re not working on campus, what are some activities or hobbies that you do in your free time?
A: When not at work, I love traveling, baking, spending time with my husband and our two pets, and binge watching tv or sports.
