Meals From Home, a week-long event aiming to bring a slice of home into the dining commons while also remembering loved ones and heritage, starts next week.
Hosted by Sodexo Dining Services and the office of Student Living and Campus Engagement, the menu offerings start on Monday, April 22 and runs through Friday, April 26.
According to Assistant Director of Student Support Mercedes Steele, when the Black Student Union hosted a Caribbean night the SLCE office saw how happy students were to experience a taste of familiarity on campus.
“We wanted to make a rendition of that event but asked the students what meals they missed most from home,” Steele said. “We took those results and created a menu based on the answers they provided.”
The planned meals are listed below. All are dinners except the Friday, April 26 meal is lunch only.
- Monday, April 22: Chicken tikka masala and stuffed shells.
- Tuesday, April 23: Spanish stew chicken and beef stroganoff
- Wednesday, April 24: Chicken parmesan and shahi paneer
- Thursday, April 25: Chicken Brazilian pastéis, pão de queijo and raviolis
- Friday, April 26: Chicken and cheese enchiladas and apricot chicken with egg noodles
