The Utica Men’s and Women’s Hockey programs secured big wins last weekend against SUNY Brockport and Manhattanville College, respectively.
The Utica Men’s Hockey team dominated the Friday, Jan. 31 game with a 7-1 victory and followed up with 2-1 win on Saturday.

Pioneer center Jacob Breault was named UCHC and Empire 8’s Player and Co-Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. This marks the third time Breault has received both honors, with his first recognition being back in November when Utica initially faced Brockport this season.
Goaltender Ryan Piros remains undefeated, allowing just one goal in both games to help secure the weekend sweep.
The men’s hockey team is away this weekend and will face Chatham University on Friday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb.8. In Pittsburgh.
The Utica Women’s Hockey team also had a stellar performance, shutting out Manhattanville 7-0 on Friday, Jan. 31 and 2-0 on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Friday’s game was a historic night for goaltender Angela Hawthorne, who broke the program record for career saves. Hawthorne holds the all-time program records for saves, save percentage, wins, goals-against average, and shutouts.
Seniors Riley Calhoun and Callie McLaughlin both reached a milestone, skating in their 100th NCAA games.

The Women’s hockey team faces Nazareth University Friday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Utica University Nexus Center. On Saturday, Feb. 8 the team travels to Nazareth for a 6 p.m. game.
