The office of Student Living and College Engagement (SLCE) and Dining Services will collaborate for the annual Campus Holiday Dinner on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 4:30 – 7 p.m., which will be open to all students with or without a meal plan. Students without a meal plan will have their meals covered by the SLCE office.
The dining hall will be fully decorated, with string lights and floating candy canes. Above all, there will be an extra large snow globe for people to be pictured inside, and free picture prints will be available as well. The SLCE office invites everyone to enjoy some holiday cheer with warm hearty meals served by faculty and staff members.
Diners are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item as part of a food drive for the Tangerine Food Grove. The Tangerine Food Grove will also accept cash or Venmo donations.
An apron decorating contest will be another part of the event.
Dining Services also held a Meals From Home event this week where they served and prepared cultural cuisine that students missed most from home. Mercedes Steele, assistant director of Student Support, said it is important to feel grounded at the final stretch of the semester.
“We wanted to bring a piece of home onto campus for our students,” Steele said. “We get to bring students a sense of comfort and homeness to campus through food and culture.”
Everyone is welcome to enjoy delicious food and share memories with staff, faculty, friends, teammates and classmates. For more information visit PioHub.
