Trax to success

The key message at the Utica College Student Success Center is simple: don’t wait.

Open to anyone, Executive Director of Student Success Rich Racioppa and his Academic Coaching Experts can guide students with any issues they might have adjusting to the school year.

Packed with a new study area, refreshments, snacks and television, the Success Center, located at 122 White Hall, is a fantastic place to relax and get homework done.

Tutoring is available and also encouraged. Other things, like assistance with communication and time management, are also available for UC students.

“I went to them last semester. They helped me a lot to get me back on track and manage my time,” junior Jazmine Vazquez said.

Weekly workshops are held every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Time management and stress relief are one of the two focal points in these workshops.

“Finals and midterms are a stressful time for everyone. For a place like that to clear your conscience would be nice,” sophomore Sean Clark said.

During Sophomore Week, the Success Center will hold a new event each day at the end of September. Motivation Monday, Tidbit Tuesday and Thursday Trivia are just some of the events that will be available for students.

And of course, an event isn’t complete without some food.

“You walk in and it feels like your living room. The PB&J sandwiches are a great idea, especially when you skip breakfast,” senior JT Ross said.
